About the speakers:

  • Kasiet Ysmanova: Director at Central Asia Barometer, with over 4 years of experience leading research initiatives across Central Asia. She oversees comprehensive research activities, including planning, data quality assessments, sampling, and analysis.
  • Dr. Tatiana Karabchuk: CAB Survey Methodologist and Associate Professor in Economic Sociology and Demography at the UAE University. She has previously held significant positions such as Deputy Director at the Eurasian Monitor project and Deputy Head of the International Laboratory for Comparative Social Research at the National Research University Higher School of Economics, Moscow.

About the organizers:

  • Central Asia Barometer (CAB) is a regional, independent, non-profit institution focused on applied social research and analytics in Central Asia. CAB conducts regular social science research, including qualitative and quantitative surveys, with a robust network for data collection. Since 2017, CAB has been organizing multi-wave public opinion surveys akin to the Global Barometer. More information is available on the CAB website.
  • European Society for Central Asian Studies (ESCAS) is a voluntary-based organization supporting the study of Central Asia and adjacent regions. ESCAS hosts biennial conferences in Europe or Central Asia. More information is available on the ESCAS website.
